About
Hi, I’m Linda. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. Nature Coast of Florida is home where my husband and our three cats live. I am passionate about making my home a warm and welcoming place. I love finding easy and delicious recipes to make for my family and friends . In my spare time, gardening, feeding the birds, binge watching shows (so addicting), and listening to podcasts.
This blog is pretty new as you can tell, but I have been a blogger for many years. It started as sharing home-cooked recipes with friends and family. What started as a small passion project quickly grew into something far bigger than I ever imagined. That blog was called Home Cooking.
That first blog exceeded all expectations, it was old and it crashed. That led me to create On Poinsettia Drive—a fresh space where my love for cooking expanded into other lifestyle interests. To my amazement, it resonated with so many of you and grew to more than a million views.
Life, however, has a way of ushering in new seasons. An illness, retirement, and a move. Well why not a new blog for this new journey. Even though I am going through a tough time with my illness, I remain positive, prayerful minded in all things, every day.
The Story Behind the Name
The name holds deep personal meaning to me. Growing up I spent a lot of time at my grandfathers fishing lodge. It holds many wonderful childhood memories. The name of the family fishing lodge was Cypress Lodge.
At the new home, we were planning out the landscaping and garden path. Remembering the one at the lodge I wanted to incorporate it into our garden. Then it dawned on me that it is also a very Southern thing to name your home. Well hands down, Little Cypress Lodge was picked. Honoring and remembering my grandfather and the memories he built for us.
So let me welcome you to Little Cypress Lodge. I am so happy that you are here. Please be patient as I grow this blog. I promise to fill it with lots of goodies. Love, Linda
